Information
My music „career“ started back in 1985, when I learned to play an old veneers italien organ. Playing such epoch-making hits like „Griechischer Wein“, „New York, Rio Tokyo“ and many more made me think that there must be something beyond. And so I got in touch with computer in 1988 by using my Commodore Amiga 500 for some tracker-music. In the early nineties I got involved to the „brandnew“ Techno-thing by a Djing friend and ended up with playing bass guitar in a cellar band in the mid-nineties.
Later I was introduced to so nice labels as Warp Records, Ninja-Tune, CCO and some more by my good friend Ingo (Self Oscillate / Dron / Signalform / Interconnected).
And that was the initial experience that really got me. After trying to copy the sound of others for some period of time, I noticed that it would have been better to do something more original. That was the point, where the Soehngenetic-thing started.
After two longplayers and much more disagreements with the label, I decided to take the plunge and release the third longplayer indipendently. That was the birth of Echorec and I don't regret that move. - Not that I'm earning mentionable amounts of money, but I'm in direct contact to the very few people, that like my music and support it!
